Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1 (16 oz.) can refried beans
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1 pkg. taco seasoning mix
  • 1 c. Bisquick
  • 1/2 c. cornmeal
  • 1/4 c. milk
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 1 1/2 c. sour cream
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 c. shredded Cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. Grease a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish.
  3. Cook and stir ground beef until browned; drain excess fat.
  4. Stir in taco seasoning mix, tomato sauce, and refried beans.
  5. In a separate bowl, combine Bisquick, cornmeal, milk, and beaten egg to make the biscuit batter.
  6. Pour the beef mixture into the prepared baking dish.
  7. Spread the biscuit batter evenly over the beef mixture.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown.
  9. Sprinkle shredded Cheddar cheese over the top during the last 5 minutes of baking.
  10. Remove from oven and let it cool slightly before serving.
