A classic tuna melt features creamy tuna salad layered with cheese on toasted bread, perfect for a quick, satisfying lunch or dinner with melty cheese and savory flavors.

Ingredients

  • 2 (6 oz.) cans Star-Kist solid white or chunk light tuna (in spring water), drained and chunked
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise (real or light)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped onion
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons chopped celery or pickle relish
  • 8 slices bread
  • 4 slices Kraft Singles

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine drained tuna, mayonnaise, chopped onion, and chopped celery or pickle relish. Mix well.
  2. Top four slices of bread with one slice of cheese each.
  3. Spread the tuna mixture over the cheese-topped bread slices.
  4. Cover with the remaining bread slices.
  5. Spread additional mayonnaise on each assembled sandwich.
  6. Place the sandwiches in a skillet and cook over medium heat until lightly browned on both sides.
