Ingredients

  • 1 box German chocolate cake mix
  • 3/4 cup melted oleo
  • 3 tablespoons evaporated milk
  • 1 package Kraft caramels
  • 1/3 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts

Instructions

  1. Mix the German chocolate cake mix, melted oleo, and evaporated milk.
  2. Press half of the batter into a 9 x 13-inch pan.
  3. Bake for 6 minutes at 350°F (175°C).
  4. Melt the Kraft caramels and 1/3 cup evaporated milk; spread over the baked dough.
  5. Sprinkle the chopped pecans or walnuts over the caramel layer.
  6. Drop remaining batter in spoonfuls on top of the nuts and caramel layer.
  7. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 18 to 20 minutes.
