Instructions
- Combine sugar, 1 cup of half-and-half, syrup, and butter in a saucepan.
- Cook over medium heat for 7 to 8 minutes until mixture comes to a full boil.
- Add remaining half-and-half and cook at a slow boil until mixture reaches 245 degrees on a candy thermometer.
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
- Pour into a greased 8 or 9 inch square pan and let cool.
- Cut into pieces and serve.
