- Add the egg mixture back into the hot mixture and cook for 1 minute longer.
- Chill the custard in the refrigerator.
- Add heavy cream and vanilla to the chilled custard.
- Pour the mixture into a gallon electric freezer.
- Fill the freezer about 2/3 full.
- Freeze until firm and serve.
