Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 3 Tbsp. unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. water
  • 5 Tbsp. oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In an 8-inch ungreased cake pan, sift together the flour, sugar, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder.
  3. Using the back of a spoon, make a hole in the dry ingredients and add the oil.
  4. Make another hole and add the vinegar.
  5. Make a third hole and add the vanilla extract.
  6. Pour the water over all the ingredients.
  7. Mix everything well with a fork until combined.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
