Wheat And Sunflower Bread

Ingredients

  • 2 pkg. active dry yeast
  • 2 1/2 c. water (105~ to 115~)
  • 1/3 c. nonfat dry milk solids
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. vegetable oil
  • 4 c. whole wheat flour
  • 1 c. sunflower seeds
  • 2 to 3 c. bread, whole wheat flour or all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg white (for brushing)

Instructions

  1. In large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water.
  2. Let stand 15 minutes until yeast foams.
  3. Add sugar and dry milk.
  4. Stir in salt, oil, 2 cups whole wheat flour and sunflower seeds.
  5. Beat until smooth.
  6. Stir in the remaining flour.
  7. Cover and let stand for 15 minutes.
  8. Take out dough and knead for 5 to 10 minutes.
  9. Let rise for 1 hour.
  10. Put into pans and bake at 350° for 30 to 35 minutes until loaves test done.
