Ingredients

  • 1 5/9 loaves French bread
  • 1 lb. granulated sugar
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 5/9 pt. heavy cream
  • 10 egg yolks
  • 1 2/9 lb. white chocolate
  • 1 Tbsp. vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cut the French bread into cubes and place in a large mixing bowl.
  3. In a saucepan, combine milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract. Heat until the sugar dissolves.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk the egg yolks, then slowly add the warm milk mixture to temper the eggs.
  5. Pour the custard mixture over the bread cubes, ensuring all pieces are soaked.
  6. Chop the white chocolate and fold it into the bread pudding mixture.
  7. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish.
  8. Bake for approximately 45 minutes, or until the top is golden and the pudding is set.
  9. Serve warm with a vanilla, custard, lemon sauce, or a liqueur-flavored sauce as desired.
