White Squash Casserole

Ingredients

  • 2 medium squash
  • 1 small onion
  • 1 cup crushed saltines
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried sweet basil
  • 3/4 to 1 cup evaporated milk

Instructions

  1. Grate the squash on a coarse grater.
  2. Grate the onion on a medium grater.
  3. Mix all ingredients together to the consistency of custard.
  4. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Put the mixture into a buttered casserole dish.
  6. Bake at 350°F for 45 minutes.
