Wiener Schnitzel is a classic Austrian dish featuring tender veal cutlets coated in crispy bread crumbs, served with boiled potatoes and fresh green salad for a satisfying meal.

Ingredients

  • 4 slices veal cubed steak (about 1 lb.)
  • flour
  • lemon and pepper seasoning salt (McCormick)
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • dry bread crumbs, unflavored

Instructions

  1. Sprinkle veal slices with seasoning salt.
  2. Dip both sides of each slice in flour.
  3. Dip slices in beaten egg.
  4. Finally, coat slices with fine dry bread crumbs, pressing crumbs in well with your hand.
  5. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow the coating to set.
  6. Fry in 1/2-inch oil at 375°F until brown and crisp, turning only once.
  7. Serve hot with boiled potatoes and green salad.
