- Dip pieces of grouse in a mixture of egg, milk, salt, pepper, and garlic salt, then roll in flour.
- Put butter and vegetable oil in a skillet and heat to frying temperature.
- Brown the pieces well on all sides.
- Remove from skillet and place in a single layer in a baking dish.
- Add drippings from the skillet to the mushroom soup and mix well.
- Spoon the mushroom soup mixture over the grouse pieces.
- Add water to the bottom of the dish.
- Cover the dish.
- Bake at 350°F for 1 hour or until the grouse is tender.
