Ingredients

  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 pkg. dry yeast
  • 3 c. lukewarm water
  • 10 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. lard or oil
  • 2 eggs, beaten

Instructions

  1. Dissolve dry yeast in a little warm water with 1/2 teaspoon sugar.
  2. Mix all ingredients, including dissolved yeast, and beat well.
  3. Gradually add the remaining flour to form a dough.
  4. Knead the dough and punch it down every hour at 6:00, 7:00, 8:00, and 9:00.
  5. At 10:00, shape the dough into buns and let them stand until morning.
  6. Bake the buns in a 350°F oven for 15 to 20 minutes.
