- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Melt margarine in an 8 or 9-inch pie dish and set aside.
- Combine self-rising flour, sugar, and half of the milk. Stir until the dry ingredients are moistened.
- Add the remaining milk and stir until smooth.
- Pour the batter over the melted margarine without mixing.
- Drain the fruit and layer it over the batter without stirring.
- Bake for 30 to 40 minutes or until lightly browned and the center springs back when touched with a finger.
