Ingredients

  • 3/4 stick margarine
  • 1 cup self-rising flour
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Melt margarine in an 8 or 9-inch pie dish and set aside.
  2. Combine self-rising flour, sugar, and half of the milk. Stir until the dry ingredients are moistened.
  3. Add the remaining milk and stir until smooth.
  4. Pour the batter over the melted margarine without mixing.
  5. Drain the fruit and layer it over the batter without stirring.
  6. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes or until lightly browned and the center springs back when touched with a finger.
