Yamazetti is a hearty, cheesy casserole combining ground meat, mushrooms, and noodles in a savory tomato sauce, perfect for comforting family dinners and casual gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground meat
  • 1 can tomato soup
  • 1/2 can water
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp chopped green pepper
  • 1 can sliced mushrooms, drained
  • 1 small package medium width egg noodles

Instructions

  1. Cook the egg noodles in boiling water until tender, then drain.
  2. Brown the ground meat with half of the chopped onion and 2 tablespoons of chopped green pepper.
  3. Add the tomato soup, water, and drained sliced mushrooms to the cooked meat mixture.
  4. Combine the cooked noodles with the remaining raw onion, then add to the meat mixture.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a greased casserole dish.
  6. Sprinkle grated Cheddar cheese over the top.
  7. Bake in a 350°F oven for 40 to 45 minutes until bubbly and golden.
