Ingredients

  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 cups scalded milk

Instructions

  1. Combine sugar, salt, vanilla, melted butter, cinnamon, and egg in a bowl. Mix well.
  2. Slowly add scalded milk while stirring continuously to create the custard mixture.
  3. Add bread crumbs and raisins to the custard, mixing gently.
  4. Pour the mixture into a well buttered baking dish.
  5. Place the baking dish into a pan of warm water to create a water bath.
  6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for about one hour.
  7. Allow to cool before serving.
