Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp yeast
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 3 cups scalded milk
  • 1 Tbsp salt
  • 1/3 cup instant potatoes
  • 1 cup margarine

Instructions

  1. Dissolve yeast in warm water with sugar.
  2. Mix together scalded milk, salt, instant potatoes, and melted margarine.
  3. Add the yeast mixture to the milk mixture.
  4. Add 4 cups of flour and beat well.
  5. Add the remaining flour, approximately 5 cups, and knead the dough.
  6. Let the dough rise until doubled in size.
  7. Pinch off small balls of dough and place them on a greased baking sheet.
  8. Let the dough balls rise, then stack them to make 'double buns'.
  9. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 15 to 20 minutes until golden brown.
