Ingredients

  • 3 cups sifted flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 3/4 cup butter flavor Crisco
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon orange extract
  • 3 eggs, separated
  • 1 1/4 cups milk
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon lemon extract
  • 3 lemons

Instructions

  1. Beat egg whites until stiff.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix Crisco, sugar, and egg yolks, well beaten.
  3. Add orange and lemon extracts, lemon juice from three lemons, milk, flour, baking powder, and salt. Mix well.
  4. Fold in beaten egg whites gently.
  5. Pour batter into a loaf pan and bake in a 350°F oven for 45 minutes.
