Ingredients

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 3 cups plain flour
  • 1 cup Crisco
  • 1 cup milk
  • pinch of salt
  • 5 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon lemon flavoring
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring

Instructions

  1. Flour and grease a tube cake pan.
  2. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  3. Mix sugar and Crisco until well combined.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Alternate adding flour and baking powder mixture with milk, starting and ending with flour.
  6. Add vanilla flavoring and lemon flavoring.
  7. Mix all ingredients until smooth.
  8. Bake for 55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
