Ingredients

  • sour milk
  • sugar
  • kellogg (All-Bran cereal)
  • baking soda
  • molasses
  • raisins
  • flour
  • salt

Instructions

  1. Mix together the All-Bran, sour milk, and raisins and let sit for a few minutes.
  2. Sift together the sugar, flour, and baking soda.
  3. Add molasses to the mixture.
  4. Combine the flour mixture with the All-Bran mixture and stir well.
  5. Fill a greased and floured coffee can about two-thirds full with the batter.
  6. Place the can on a rack in a large pan.
  7. Fill the pan with water halfway up the can.
  8. Cover and steam for three hours, starting the timer when the water boils.
