Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 small package (3 oz.) cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 tube anchovy paste

Instructions

  1. Sift the flour, measure, and sift again into a mixing bowl.
  2. Cut in the cream cheese and butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Form into a ball and chill in the refrigerator for about 2 hours.
  4. Roll out the dough to 1/8-inch thickness and cut into 2-inch rounds.
  5. Place about 1/4 teaspoon of anchovy paste in the center of each round.
  6. Moisten the edges with water and fold to form a turnover, pressing edges together.
  7. Prick the tops with a fork.
  8. Place on a baking sheet and chill until ready to bake.
  9. Bake in a moderately hot oven (375°F) for 10 minutes until golden.
  10. Serve immediately.
