Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 cups milk
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 4 tablespoons flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa
  • 2 tablespoons oleo (butter or margarine)

Instructions

  1. Beat egg yolks; add 1/2 cup sugar, salt, cocoa, butter, and milk.
  2. Heat mixture until sugar is dissolved.
  3. Combine remaining sugar with flour and add to the mixture; cook until thick.
  4. Pour the chocolate filling into a baked pie crust.
  5. Prepare meringue from the egg whites and spread over the pie filling.
  6. Brown the meringue in a medium oven until golden.
