- Boil margarine, light brown sugar, and light corn syrup in a large saucepan.
- Once the mixture comes to a full boil, remove from heat and add salt, baking soda, and vanilla, stirring well.
- Pour the caramel mixture over 7 quarts of popped popcorn in a large pan.
- Mix well to coat all the popcorn evenly.
- Bake in a 200°F (93°C) oven for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
