Ingredients

  • 2 c. butter
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 2 c. brown sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 4 c. flour
  • 5 c. oatmeal
  • 1 (24 oz.) bag chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk)

Instructions

  1. Cream together butter and sugars.
  2. Add vanilla and eggs. Process oatmeal until powder-like in blender or food processor. (Measure oatmeal before processing.)
  3. With oatmeal, mix in flour, salt and baking powder.
  4. Mix all of these ingredients.
  5. Stir in chocolate chips and grated Hershey bar.
  6. (Add three cups chopped nuts, if desired.)
  7. Bake at 375° for 8 minutes.
  8. Cookies may look undercooked.
  9. May microwave 20 seconds to warm.
  10. Makes 112 cookies.
