Ingredients

  • 1 stick oleo (butter)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Melt the oleo (butter) in the baking dish.
  3. In a bowl, mix the sugar, flour, salt, and baking powder.
  4. Add the milk to the dry mixture and stir until combined.
  5. Pour the milk mixture over the melted oleo in the baking dish.
  6. Drain the canned fruit and pour it over the oleo and batter.
  7. Pour the remaining fruit liquid (if any) over the fruit.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven until the top is golden brown, about 35 minutes.
