Ingredients

  • 1 package Duncan Hines apple cinnamon deluxe cake mix
  • 1/2 cup cooking oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Pecan or walnut halves (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. Mix the dry cake mix, cooking oil, and eggs until well blended.
  3. Drop teaspoon-sized dollops onto an ungreased cookie sheet, about 2 inches apart.
  4. Combine sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.
  5. Dip the bottom of a glass into the cinnamon-sugar mixture and press each cookie flat.
  6. Press a pecan or walnut half onto the center of each cookie.
  7. Bake at 375°F for 8 to 10 minutes until medium brown.
  8. Cool on the cookie sheet for 1 minute, then transfer to racks for further cooling.
  9. Store tightly covered.
