Ingredients

  • 7 large McIntosh apples, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup apple cider or juice
  • 1/2 cup fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 1/2 cups rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 tablespoons maple syrup

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine peeled and sliced apples, apple cider or juice, cranberries, cinnamon, and salt in an ungreased 8-inch square pan.
  3. In a bowl, mix rolled oats, flour, chopped walnuts, vegetable oil, and maple syrup to make the topping.
  4. Sprinkle the topping evenly over the apple mixture.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 35 minutes or until the topping is golden and the fruit is bubbly.
  6. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
