Ingredients

  • 6 cups tart apples
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 6 ounces frozen apple juice concentrate, thawed
  • 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1 tablespoon margarine

Instructions

  1. Core and slice the tart apples.
  2. Combine cinnamon and cornstarch and stir into the thawed apple juice concentrate.
  3. Heat the mixture in a pan, stirring until thickened.
  4. Stir in the sliced apples, chopped walnuts, and raisins.
  5. Prepare two 9-inch pie crusts.
  6. Spoon the apple mixture into one crust and dot with margarine.
  7. Cover with the second crust, cut slits in it to allow steam escape.
  8. Bake at 350°F for 50 minutes until golden brown.
