Ingredients

  • 1 cube butter
  • 2 cups long grain white rice
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup vermicelli
  • 1 tablespoon salt

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a heavy pan.
  2. Break the vermicelli into small pieces and sauté in butter until golden brown, stirring constantly.
  3. Add rice; keep stirring until rice is well coated, about 2 to 3 minutes.
  4. Add boiling chicken broth and salt.
  5. Cook, covered, on medium-low heat for 20 minutes, until liquid is absorbed.
  6. Fluff with a fork before serving.
