Ingredients

  • 12 small cucumbers
  • 2 small onions
  • 1/4 cup pickling salt
  • 2 cups cider vinegar
  • 2 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon celery salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon mustard seed

Instructions

  1. Wash cucumbers thoroughly and cut into 1/4-inch slices.
  2. Wash onions and cut into 1/8-inch slices.
  3. Mix pickling salt, cider vinegar, sugar, celery salt, and mustard seed in a large bowl.
  4. Stir until sugar is dissolved.
  5. Add cucumbers and onions to the mixture.
  6. Let set at room temperature for 2 hours, then place in glass or plastic containers and refrigerate until used.
