Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups corn meal
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 3/4 teaspoons baking powder

Instructions

  1. Gradually stir the corn meal into the milk and bring to a boil, making mush.
  2. Add the salt and butter to the hot mush and mix well.
  3. Allow the mixture to cool slightly, then add the beaten eggs and baking powder, mixing thoroughly.
  4. Pour the batter into a casserole dish.
  5. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 30 to 35 minutes until golden and set.
  6. Serve directly from the baking dish.
