- Wash the apples thoroughly.
- Cut the apples in halves, then into quarters.
- Line a 9 x 13-inch glass baking dish with a layer of apple pieces.
- Sprinkle some sugar over the first layer of apples.
- Melt the margarine and pour a small amount over the sugar layer.
- Add another layer of apples, then pour melted margarine and the remaining sugar over the top.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil.
