Baked Cheese Dish

Ingredients

  • 6 slices stale bread
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. paprika
  • 1 1/2 c. milk
  • 1/2 lb. cheese (sharp)
  • bacon

Instructions

  1. Spread butter on bread, break bread into 1 1/2-inch pieces to fit a greased baking dish.
  2. Put grated cheese over bread, layer of bacon, cut in 1-inch pieces.
  3. Beat eggs.
  4. Add salt, paprika and milk.
  5. Pour over mixture.
  6. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes or until very light and puffy.
  7. (Good when reheated!)
