Ingredients

  • 16 slices sandwich bread
  • 8 slices ham (1/8-inch thick)
  • 8 slices Old English cheese
  • 1 stick melted oleo
  • 7 eggs
  • 1 1/2 tsp. dry mustard
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 3 cups milk
  • 3 cups crushed flaked cereal

Instructions

  1. Take crusts off of bread.
  2. Arrange 8 slices of bread in a buttered 9 x 13-inch pan.
  3. Arrange ham, cheese, and remaining bread on top.
  4. Beat eggs; add dry mustard and salt.
  5. Mix well.
  6. Add milk to the egg mixture.
  7. Pour the egg mixture over the sandwiches in the pan.
  8. Refrigerate overnight.
  9. Crush cereal and sprinkle on top of the mixture.
  10. Drizzle melted oleo over the top.
  11. Bake for 1 hour at 300°F or until set like custard.
