Ingredients

  • 6 slices bacon
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 bay leaf, crumbled
  • 3 Tbsp. butter
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • fresh Lake Trout
  • 1/4 cup bread crumbs

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a pan and stir in flour to make a paste.
  2. Place 3 slices of bacon in the bottom of a baking pan; cover with sliced onion and crumbled bay leaf. Place the fish on top.
  3. Spread the flour paste and melted butter over the fish.
  4. Sprinkle bread crumbs over the top and place the remaining sliced bacon on top.
  5. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 35 to 45 minutes until cooked through.
