Baked Pears A-La-Mode features tender pears baked in a sweet pineapple-flavored sauce, perfect as a comforting dessert for family gatherings or special occasions.

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons plain flour
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons margarine, melted
  • 1 cup pineapple juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring
  • 2 cans (29 oz each) pears, halved or sliced, drained

Instructions

  1. Blend sugar, flour, and salt in a small bowl.
  2. Combine the mixture with melted margarine in a small pan.
  3. Add pineapple juice and cook, stirring constantly, until thickened.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla flavoring.
  5. Pour the sauce over drained pear halves or slices in an oblong baking dish.
  6. Bake at 375°F for 25 minutes.
