Ingredients

  • 10 to 12 lb. turkey
  • 2 sticks margarine, melted
  • cornbread dressing
  • 1 qt. water
  • 1 whole onion
  • 1 whole apple

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 475°F.
  2. Baste the turkey with melted margarine.
  3. Stuff the turkey if desired.
  4. Put water, onion, and apple in the roaster.
  5. Place the turkey, breast side down, in the water to keep it moist.
  6. Cover the roaster.
  7. Bake at 475°F for one hour.
  8. Turn off the oven.
  9. Do not open the oven door at all during the night.
