A warm banana casserole layered with brown sugar, raisins, and pecans, baked to perfection and finished with a splash of brandy—delicious with pork, poultry, or ice cream.

Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1/2 cup pecans
  • brandy

Instructions

  1. Heavily butter a shallow casserole dish.
  2. Layer sliced bananas lengthwise over the butter.
  3. Sprinkle brown sugar and add a generous amount of butter over the bananas.
  4. Add a layer of raisins and pecans.
  5. Repeat the layering process until all ingredients are used.
  6. Bake in a preheated oven at 325°F (160°C) for 30 to 40 minutes.
  7. Just before serving, pour a little brandy over the casserole.
