Banana Mousse

A light, creamy banana mousse with citrus notes, perfect for a refreshing dessert or elegant presentation, suitable for entertaining or a special treat.

Ingredients

  • 1 ripe banana, mashed
  • 6 to 8 Tbsp. fresh orange juice
  • 2 to 3 Tbsp. fresh lemon juice
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 egg white
  • 1/2 pt. heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Combine mashed banana, orange juice, lemon juice, and sugar in a bowl.
  2. Mix well until sugar dissolves.
  3. With an electric mixer, beat egg white until stiff peaks form.
  4. In a separate bowl, beat heavy cream until stiff and peaked.
  5. Gently fold the beaten egg white into the whipped cream.
  6. Add the banana mixture to the cream mixture and fold together until blended.
  7. Pour the mixture into a freezer tray, containers, or mold.
  8. Cover and freeze for about 6 hours.
  9. Remove from freezer 15 to 20 minutes before serving.
