Banana Split Bars

Ingredients

  • 1/3 c. margarine or butter, softened
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 banana, mashed
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/3 c. chopped nuts
  • 2 c. miniature marshmallows
  • 1 c. semi-sweet real chocolate chips
  • 1/3 c. maraschino cherries, drained and quartered

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 350°.
  2. Beat margarine and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs, banana and vanilla; mix well.
  4. Mix in flour, baking powder and salt.
  5. Stir in nuts.
  6. Pour into greased 13 x 9-inch pan.
  7. Bake for 20 minutes.
  8. Remove from oven.
  9. Sprinkle with marshmallows, chips and cherries.
  10. Bake 10 to 15 minutes longer or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan; cut into bars.
