Ingredients

  • 4 to 5 lb boneless chuck roast
  • 4 medium potatoes
  • 8 large carrots
  • 1/4 cup water
  • seasonings to suit taste

Instructions

  1. Place the boneless chuck roast in a large ceramic oven dish that can be covered. Season the roast with your preferred seasonings or steak sauce.
  2. Wash the potatoes, cut them in half lengthwise, and arrange them around the roast, cut side up.
  3. Clean the carrots, cut them in half lengthwise, and place them around the roast and potatoes.
  4. Add 1/4 cup of water to the dish.
  5. Cover the dish and bake in a preheated 250°F (120°C) oven for 3 to 4 hours until the meat is tender.
