Ingredients

  • 1 can whole water chestnuts, drained
  • 1 package hickory smoked bacon
  • 6 tablespoons chili sauce or catsup
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

Instructions

  1. Wrap each drained water chestnut with half a slice of bacon and secure with a toothpick.
  2. If necessary, cut some chestnuts in half to match the number of bacon strips.
  3. Arrange the bacon-wrapped chestnuts in a shallow baking pan.
  4. Broil until crispy, about 5 minutes on each side.
  5. Drain the chestnuts well.
  6. Blend chili sauce, brown sugar, and Dijon mustard to create the glaze.
  7. Pour the glaze over the bacon-wrapped chestnuts.
  8. Bake at 350°F for 20 minutes.
