Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup warm water
  • 1 packet dry yeast
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 2/3 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup shortening
  • 1 egg

Instructions

  1. Put water and yeast in a mixing bowl, stirring to dissolve.
  2. Add sugar, salt, shortening, egg, and 1 cup of flour. Mix at low speed until blended.
  3. Add the remaining flour gradually.
  4. Beat until smooth and elastic.
