Ingredients

  • 1 (21 oz.) can cherry pie filling
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup old fashioned oats
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • whipped cream or ice cream (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Spread cherry pie filling evenly in a greased 9-inch square baking pan.
  3. In a bowl, combine brown sugar, flour, oats, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  4. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  5. Sprinkle the oat mixture over the cherry filling.
  6. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until golden brown.
  7. Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream, if desired.
