Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 (16 oz) can pork and beans
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 small can tomato sauce

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a skillet, then drain excess fat.
  2. Add pork and beans, barbecue sauce, chopped onion, salt, and tomato sauce to the beef.
  3. Simmer the mixture for 5 minutes.
  4. Pour the mixture into a large 9 x 13-inch baking dish.
  5. Prepare cornbread batter using 2 small packages of cornbread mix and spread over the beef mixture.
  6. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 25 minutes.
  7. Spread soft margarine over the top of the cornbread before serving.
