Ingredients

  • 1 cup elbow macaroni
  • 3/4 cup chopped onion
  • 2 teaspoons Italian spices
  • 1 cup shredded cheese
  • 8 oz can tomato sauce
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 can stewed tomatoes
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F.
  2. Cook chopped onion in melted butter in a skillet until translucent.
  3. Brown ground beef in the same skillet; add Italian spices, stewed tomatoes, and cook for 3 minutes.
  4. Cook elbow macaroni until al dente, then spoon into a baking dish.
  5. Pour meat mixture over the cooked macaroni.
  6. Add tomato sauce and shredded cheese on top.
  7. Sprinkle grated cheese over the casserole and bake for 30 minutes until bubbly and golden.
