Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground chuck
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 tsp. shortening
  • 1 (16 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. sugar
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 5 oz. medium wide egg noodles
  • 1 c. sour cream
  • 1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
  • 1 c. grated sharp cheese

Instructions

  1. Melt shortening in a skillet.
  2. Cook beef and onion until browned.
  3. Drain off fat.
  4. Stir in tomatoes and tomato sauce, adding salt, sugar, and garlic if desired.
  5. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  6. Meanwhile, cook noodles according to package instructions; drain well.
  7. While hot, using a fork, blend in sour cream and cream cheese cut into cubes.
