Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • lightly beaten egg white

Instructions

  1. Mix flour with sugar in a large bowl.
  2. Cut in margarine until the mixture resembles peas.
  3. Form the dough into a ball with your hands.
  4. Press the dough firmly into the bottom and up the sides of an ungreased 10-inch tart pan with a removable bottom.
  5. Brush the bottom of the pastry with lightly beaten egg white.
  6. Bake on the center rack in a preheated 375°F oven for 18 to 20 minutes.
  7. Cool completely, then remove the rim.
