Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lard
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 heaping teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 cups flour
  • little salt
  • 2 cups berries

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, beat the eggs and sugar until well combined.
  3. Add the lard and milk, mixing until smooth.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and a pinch of salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  6. Gently fold in the berries.
  7. Pour the batter into a greased baking dish.
  8. Bake for approximately 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
