Ingredients

  • 1 large or 2 medium heads cabbage, shredded
  • 2 medium onions, chopped
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup vinegar
  • 3/4 cup salad oil
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1 teaspoon celery seed
  • 1 tablespoon salt

Instructions

  1. Heat the sugar, vinegar, salad oil, dry mustard, celery seed, and salt to a boil.
  2. Pour the hot mixture over the shredded cabbage and chopped onions.
  3. Refrigerate in an airtight container for 12 to 24 hours.
  4. Drain before serving.
