Ingredients

  • 8 large potatoes
  • 2 medium onions
  • 1 1/2 sticks margarine
  • salt
  • pepper

Instructions

  1. Layer sliced potatoes in a deep casserole with sliced onions and butter. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  2. Pour enough milk to cover the layered ingredients.
  3. Bake at 325°F until the potatoes are tender and the mixture has started to thicken.
  4. Allow to stand; the sauce will thicken further on standing.
